About Me (and Looper’s Line)!

Who am I?

Well, according to some people, I’m a 70-year old man trapped in a 20-year old’s body. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy watching Jeopardy!, wearing a good tie, and playing golf, but I can confirm that I am simply a college student that is taking this summer to search for the heart of golf.

I attend UNC-Chapel Hill, where I’m an active member of the Lutheran Campus Ministry (LCM!) and a student assistant in the athletic communications department. I’m studying public policy and economics, and have an intense interest in North Carolina’s politics, specifically the state legislature.

When I’m not running stats at UNC basketball games or helping plan an LCM spring break trip to Germany, you can typically find me searching for my next piece of key lime pie or reading the news. I also can’t say no to a good trivia night or the prospect of spending quality time with the people that I love (typically over food).

What is Looper’s Line?

It’s the blog (and Instagram account) that I’m using to chronicle my experiences this summer!

“Looper” is a slang term for caddie, which is what I’ll be for five weeks on the Epson Tour for Alyaa Abdulghany. I’ve played golf for a decade, but this will be my first tour caddying experience, so I’m grateful for the trust that Alyaa is placing in me as I search for the heart of golf.

I’ll also take a trip to Scotland in early July and visit the Home of Golf, as well as the Genesis Scottish Open.

For more information on my plans this summer (and why I am the way that I am), I invite you to check out my introductory article.
